MSA Application Form
The Millennial Scholar Academy (MSA) seeks to develop community leadership skills and experience in qualified Grace College students by involving those students in training sessions designed to give them a deeper understanding of the agencies and activities that build and strengthen local communities. MSA also offers qualified students annually increasing scholarships, as outlined in the online description of MSA Scholarships.
1. Applicants for membership in the Millennial Scholar Academy must be from outside the State of Indiana, as stipulated by the Lilly Endowment Foundation, which funded the original program grant.
2. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
3. Applicants must show academic and leadership potential, as evidenced by past performance and future goals.
MSA students are required to participate in a minimum of nine sessions during their first year. Five of those sessions are completed during the MSA Orientation scheduled during the three days (Wednesday – Friday) immediately preceding Welcome Weekend. After the first year, MSA students are required to attend a minimum of three sessions each semester until they graduate or attend a minimum of twenty-four total training sessions. Students failing to meet these requirements may lose their MSA membership and scholarship the following semester.
MSA training sessions are offered during times that do not conflict with classes. Generally, they are scheduled on Mondays, from 10:00 – 10:50 a.m. Some sessions may be offered at other times. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange their work schedules or other commitments around the required training sessions.
